Notes
With school now being closed through spring break, I am sending the following to you:
Math: Enclosed are fact triangles that students can use to practice math facts. An information sheet on how to use the triangles is included.
Reading: We encouraged children to select a book from our classroom library to take home, and tried to make sure all library books also went home. Please be sure to read with your child daily for a minimum of 15 minutes.
Technology: I am resending your child’s Clever badge so that they can easily access Raz Kids, Lexia, and DreamBox online. Directions for logging into Lexia and Dreambox are included in the folder.
Other: I am also resending my March Anytime Activities list. This menu has activities in spelling, reading, writing, and math that you can choose from.
As a reminder, our classroom website is www.jennyellisfirst.weebly.com
Our leprechaun has continued to be busy making mischief in our classroom. Once we return in April, we will go on a leprechaun hunt to catch him.
I will miss seeing the children every day! Hope everyone stays healthy!
We are Learning...
Reading: Readers use what they know about their character(s) to retell and predict events.
Word Work: Learning about pronouns
Writing: Writing our opinions has continued. We are using the following format: state your opinion, give a reason, and add some detail about your reason.
Math: Fact families and fact triangles. For example, 6+4=10, 4+6=10, 10-6=4, 10-4=6 is a fact family.
Social Studies: Examined old photos of what schools looked like in the past, as well as American holidays that reference the past.
Upcoming Events & More
School closed beginning March 16. Scheduled return date is April 6.
