Anytime March Homework

______    Take a practice spelling test with 15 of our last 20 sight words (see back of this sheet for words) then have a family member check your work
 
______    Write a short story in the dark with a flashlight
 
______    Tell the time to the hour using an analog clock
 
______    Read a story to someone at home.  Retell the story including characters, setting, problem, and solution
 
______    Include a new sight word in a question sentence.  Write 5 of these sentences.  Make sure to use a question mark!
 
_______   Write 3 sentences about today’s weather (include the sky and air temperature)
 
______    Have someone at home make a list of 2-digit numbers, such as 53.  Tell them what the value is of the 5 (5 tens or 50) and the 3 (3 ones).  Ask them to give you at least 10 numbers
 
______    Read a book somewhere you have never read before
 
______    List as many words as you can think of that use the “oi” or “oy” spelling pattern
 
______    Write a thank you note to somebody
 
______    Write several true and false equations.  Share your list with a family member and tell them how you know the difference in each (Example 3+2=5 True; 7=4+4 False)
 
______    Read a fairy tale and folk tale.  Tell someone what the difference is between the two (fairy tales have magic and folk tales teach a lesson)
 
______    Explain to someone at home the difference between a synonym (same) and antonym (opposite).  Write five synonym pairs and five antonym pairs.
 
______    Write an opinion about the last thing you played with (give 2 reasons why you liked it, and be sure to use the word “because.”)
